We all know times are tough. The economy is way down and the last thing you want to do is to have to go out and buy something new. However, this may be the one case where your new purchase truly does pay for itself in a very short period of time. If you live in an area where 50cc scooters can get you from point A to point B, you should seriously consider snagging one and there are plenty of reasons why.

The engine size of the 50cc gas scooter puts it in the classification between the mopeds class and the motor vehicle class. When it comes to the right for people to operate one of the buggers, there is little common ground between distinct states on whether an individual needs to be licensed or not. If for instance, you live in the EU, but not in France or Italy, you are allowed to operate one without a driving license, but in those two countries you must have a minimum of a car license to operate anything up to 125cc. There has not been a lot of legislation on the subject of scooters, so no one has actually completely defined any concrete rules and regulations governing the use of such transportation.

50cc scooters have an engine size that classifies small motorcycles at the limit between the vehicle category or mopeds class. Regulations differ in many countries of the world when it comes to the right to drive 50cc scooters with or without a driving license, and common terms are seldom reached. Some of the countries in the EU will allow you to operate these scooters without a permit or license, but if you live in either France or Italy, you are going to be required to carry the minimum of a car drivers license to operate any “vehicle” up to 125cc. There has not been a lot of legislation on the subject of scooters, so no one has actually completely defined any concrete rules and regulations governing the use of such transportation.

When you buy a 50cc gas scooter you are getting into a vehicle that falls in between the vehicle category and the category classified as mopeds. When it comes to the right for people to operate one of the buggers, there is little common ground between different countries on whether an individual needs to be licensed or not. If for instance, you live in the EU, but not in France or Italy, you are allowed to operate one without a driving license, but in those two countries you must have a minimum of a car license to operate anything up to 125cc. None of the rules governing the use of these modes of transportation have truly been defined, so there is not a lot of clarity on what you really need.

The slight mention of Harley Davidson brings to mind raw power, oozing machismo, and anything that is extremely hard core. One imagines a powerful man with bulging arms, decked with tattoos of poisonous snakes and fearsome dragons, long hair, a muscle shirt, piercings and all the works. The Harley Davidson after all is a legendary giant in the motorcycle industry that rakes in more than half the US market customer share.
